Dr. Meharg recently returned from an incredible experience at the 2012 Orthodontist Invisalign Summit held from November 15 through November 19. This event, held once every 2 years, is an opportunity for doctors to learn more about the use of Invisalign as well as to collaborate with other orthodontic colleagues from around North America.
The theme of this year’s summit was Next Generation Now to promote the introduction of a new aligner material in 2013. The new material will be slightly more flexible and at the same time produce a more long acting effect than the material currently used.
The keynote speaker was Jeffrey Norris Ph.D., a world famous scientist who manages a team at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. He spoke about the similarities in the development of the Invisalign technology and software with the evolution of the space program and the importance of teamwork in the process.
Dr. Meharg came away with a better understanding of the commitment of Align Technology to improving the process and the product and he looks forward to continuing to offer this exciting alternative to conventional braces.
